From Jiskefet set to trendy and pleasant office environment
At Waarborg we are always looking for interesting properties. Call them the gems on the market, call them the properties with potential. Nine times out of ten they are the properties that not everyone sees something in. In early October, Waarborg Vastgoed bought such a property: Sylviuslaan 2.
The Sylviuslaan
The Sylviuslaan is a property in Groningen South that has been for sale for quite some time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the location. On the contrary, the building is located directly behind the Martini Hospital, near the ring road and the A28, has more than enough parking spaces and is also spacious. A property with a stately appearance. Once inside, however, you imagined yourself in an office space that could have been the recording set of Jiskefet: thin system walls, yellowish carpeting and bleak blinds in front of the windows. Anything but a building that met the requirements of a pleasant working environment in 2016. Nevertheless, the team at Waarborg saw the potential and purchased the property at the beginning of October.

The importance of atmosphere
As a housing provider, we know better than anyone how important atmosphere, scent and interior are. Sylviuslaan scored moderate to bad on all points. The ink on the transfer papers was barely dry when the Waarborg handyman team got to work. The bleak slats were removed, as were the system ceilings, carpeting, system walls and old light boxes. What remained was an industrial look and feel: exactly what we had in mind and exactly the atmosphere we wanted to continue to develop. Two months later, the Waarborg handyman team had completed a great deal of work and the top floor of the building was ready for use. From the toilet groups to new window coverings and from new lighting to a grass mat as a wall: the top floor of the building had been transformed into an attractive, pleasant and open space. At the end of December, the Waarborg team packed up their things and moved from Hoendiepskade to Sylviuslaan 2.

The only constant is moving
Where a move is a big event for many organisations, the team at Waarborg has developed real nomad skills. It is not uncommon for the team at Waarborg to have just settled in or they can already pack their things, because a party is enthusiastic about the office space. Are you enthusiastic about the Sylviuslaan after seeing the images above and would you like to come and admire the building in real life? Then contact Geerlinde Rutgers. She will be happy to show you around and can also tell you everything about the building!
