Professionals in the Peizerstate
The team of Waarborg Vastgoed is proud of the companies it houses: companies in various sectors, all successful in their own way in what they do. One of the companies that Waarborg Vastgoed is allowed to house is Payroll Professionals, a company that facilitates its customers in payroll administration and employee remuneration. Payroll Professionals has been located in the Peizerstate since 2013, a modern building on the ring road of Groningen. In this blog we will tell you more about this fun Groningen company!
Employee Pay
Payroll Professionals is a company that takes over the legal employment of companies and takes care of the payroll of employees. What exactly does that entail? Just like an employment agency, Payroll Professionals employs a lot of employees. The big difference, however, is that Payroll Professionals is only a legal employer: the company – the client of Payroll Professionals – itself does the recruitment of new staff, the performance and assessment interviews and the daily management on the work floor. Unlike an employment agency, as an employee of a payroll company you simply apply to the company for which you will actually perform work. The only thing is that you receive a contract from the payroll company and that your salary is paid by that same payroll company.
Outsourcing risks
It's pretty crazy that you work for one party and get paid by another. How does that work exactly? Gonnie Bruining of Payroll Professionals explains: "That may indeed sound a bit crazy, but I'll explain it to you. Payroll Professionals' clients often have the problem that they actually need staff, but find the risk of hiring someone too great. After all, if the employee falls ill, you as an entrepreneur will suffer the consequences. Small SMEs, but also companies in the large corporate segment, often do not want and/or cannot afford that risk. After all, it can cost you your life if an employee is ill for a long period of time. In such a case, payrolling is really a solution. Payrolling is also often a pleasant solution for companies that temporarily need extra employees."
Legal employment
And how does that work in practice? Gonnie explains: “When a company needs a new employee, they simply go and look for one. The company, our client, conducts the job interviews themselves and agrees on a salary with the employee. Once that is settled, we come into the picture. We send the employee a contract and register him or her in our system. With that, we then become the legal employer of that employee. We pay you your salary, holiday pay and any profit distributions from the company. Of course, the company you work for, our client, pays that back to us plus a fee for the risk we take for that client and the administrative costs. That fee is called a factor; an amount by which the original salary amount is multiplied.”

Gonnie continues: “Legal employment for so many people is not just something, it is a great responsibility. Payroll Professionals takes this task very seriously; good employment is our top priority. For example, we keep a close eye on the collective labor agreements, so that we know for sure that all our employees get what they are entitled to.”
Just keep it simple
Payroll Professionals has a real Groningen culture: 'just do it'. "That down-to-earth attitude appeals to many of our clients," says Gonnie. "The people at Payroll Professionals do what they say. They don't beat around the bush and keep their promises." That down-to-earth culture is clearly noticeable on the work floor. In the large, open office space on the sixth floor of the Peizerstate, there is an informal and friendly atmosphere. Gonnie says: "We joke around a bit, but we can also really get a lot of work done together. We now have twelve employees, but that atmosphere... it remains." Gonnie is very satisfied with the Peizerstate: "We think we have the most beautiful space and the most beautiful view in this building. The latter, the view over Groningen, is really great. You see the ring road, the city, the railway and the station and yet you are back on the ring road and the motorway in no time from here. The building is therefore very easy to reach. The Peizerstate also fits in well with what we want to radiate: businesslike and modern, but accessible."
